Alex Tilley started playing music young in his home country of England. His solo set is electric guitar and delay, roots-leaning and unhurried. He also plays upright bass in folk duo 'Phil & Tilley'.

Lachlan Jacques is a roaming busker and songwriter whose 8-track album The Busker was recorded live and unplugged. Raw guitar, harmonica, and road-worn stories, no tricks, just the real thing.

Tony Mango is a live looping multi-instrumentalist, blending beatbox, guitar, trumpet, didgeridoo, blues harp and soulful vocals into a sun-soaked mix of roots, reggae, funk, soul and blues. Recently back from playing festivals across Europe, the UK and Africa.

Cronulla kid turned Byron local, Todd Kem is an indie folk singer-songwriter who cut his teeth busking back home before heading north in 2024. Heartfelt storytelling and sun-soaked melodies that stick around long after the set.

Live Music Sundays at Marvell St Café – Youth Edition

Are you aged 16–21 and ready to perform live in Byron Bay?
We’re looking for fresh talent to play Acoustic, Indie, Jazz, Soul — originals or covers welcome.

Every second Sunday, Marvell St Café hosts local high school and TAFE students to perform live.

It’s a chill, supportive space for young artists to share their music, build confidence, and connect with the Byron community.

Alex Tilley

Hailing from England, Alex Tilley has been making music from a young age. He’s played in various projects over the years, including as the upright bassist in folk duo Phil & Tilley.

In 2020, Alex launched his solo project, shifting to electric guitar and delay pedals to create a more ambient, layered sound. Influenced by artists like John Martyn, Ben Howard, John Mayer, and Pink Floyd, his music blends soulful melodies with atmospheric depth.

Ally Palmer

a rising locally–based singer-songwriter known for her soulful vocals, raw acoustic sound, and heartfelt lyrics. Drawing inspiration from folk and indie-pop, Ally brings a warm, grounded presence that’s perfectly at home on a slow Saturday morning.

Ally will be playing regularly at Marvell St, setting the tone for our weekend sessions as we ease into live music season. Join us for her laid-back acoustic sets and get a taste of what’s to come on her upcoming debut album.
